Mine are REALLY irregular, but mainly that's just because I'm young and haven't settled into a pattern. When I do get them it kind of seems like I've been stabbed because of how much blood is coming out of me. It's actually a very large inconvenience because it's hard to change pads as often as I usually need to. I've been on a long car trip with it, and I didn't bring enough pads. So I had to use toilette paper, and my underwear got SO stained. The main problem is that I always underestimate how bad it's going to be "Oh, well it shouldn't be THAT bad, I really only need 1 or 2 pads..." then I end up using 5-6. With cramps, I have a friend who gets them so badly she will be out for a day or two sometimes because of them. Mine are actually pretty minimum. They don't actually hurt, so much as make me nauseous. And that I can usually combat pretty well. Then, again because I'm young, I actually have yellow-ish discharge that is literally ALWAYS there. It varries in degrees. But I actually have to wear a pad all the time because of it. Hoping this stage passes quickly! But for now, I'm findin having a vagina kind of sucks!!!!!!!

Thanks for your reply. Wow, being out for a day or two with cramps has gotta suck! And yea, I read somewhere else that blood is not always the only discharge; there's sometimes urine and other fluids that can leak out too. I hope it's just a phase for you too and passes soon.

My period is irregular but I'm not worried about "leakage" because I always carry pads and tampons with me. Since my period is irregular, the way it affects me is also irregular. But my last period was excruciating to the point where I was bed ridden for a few hours before I forced myself to get back on with the day.

Thanks for your reply. Period pains certainly don't sound like fun.

My periods have always been pretty irregular. They happen every month, but different numbers of days in between. Like sometimes it's after 30 days and other times after like 36 days or something. Yes I often have leakage. It's usually a minor inconvenience. Though sometimes there can be a lot of leakage. I don't stress too much about it though. It's more of a normal thing, like just something I have to deal with sometimes. Though yes I have had some embarrassing moments, usually when I am wearing white pants or sitting on a white cushion. But mostly I just clean up change put on a new pad and move on. It's usually not too big of a deal. As for pain, my periods usually last three or four days, and usually on one of those days I experience some cramps. Usually it's very minor, just some minor cramping, though some months I experience greater discomfort and may need to lie down for a half hour. It sort of feels like a weird stomach ache, though different. I can usually distinguish period pain from other pain. But mostly I'm okay.

Thanks for your reply. Sounds like you have good control over your period, though I'm still feeling very fortunate to be a guy right now!

First thing not all women have the same flow. For me they caught me off guard all the time having irregular ones and the pain was so intense I had to go to my ob/gyn all the time found out I had large cysts and the put me on birth control to make them more regular, light, and to dissolve the cysts. Even still it didn't happen like clock work and when I was a teenager I could feel it start and excuse myself to either find a spot or I destroyed my panties or pants. I remember my sister in law had just bought white tripp pants and started in them and the $100 pants couldn't be saved. The bleach got it down to light brown. It also depends on tampons or pads too pads spill BAD well for me and my friends anyway and tampons catch well but the can hurt sometimes and they're not as safe as pads. Night time is the worst because you shouldn't sleep in tampons so a lot of women wear pads and you wake up sometimes and your bed looks like someone stabbed you in your sleep. You asked about inconvenience yea its a huge inconvenience buddy lol I lived with my grandfather and sometimes he didn't buy me any and while I waited I had to make it from paper towels. It can mess up ur wedding it it starts in that pretty white dress dude I could write a book on how its inconvenient

Thanks for your answer. I must admit I hadn't realised how much of a problem periods can be til I started looking into it! I've also come across lots of women who say that pads spill and tampons are uncomfortable, which I was surprised by too. Very enlightening.
