Your vents, your conversation

Today’s release gives you more control over every vent:

  • Choose Everyone, Members only, or Comments off
  • Let people know whether you want support, advice, a listening ear, or humor
  • Edit vents and their conversation settings reliably
  • Search, filter, and sort a redesigned private Archive

Anonymous comments are rate-limited and do not extend a vent’s timer, keeping open participation from becoming an easy way to abuse expiration.

July’s Muttr update is live

Communities received a major foundation upgrade this month, alongside Muttr-wide search, stronger privacy controls, safer signups, and a smoother overall experience.

please fix your filter system and actually give people randomly getting caught by it some semblance of direction as to what specifically is wrong with their post, because this is insane. the amount of regular posts being suppressed far outweighs the troll posts that this fails to stop anyway. not a single problematic word in my post, and i've run extensive tests with ones that might be problematic but weren't. but the post in its entirety? Violation. Zero clarification as to why. I post about a personal thing that weighs on me heavily, but no crime is being committed, no personal info is being included, i'm doing everything right and still being blocked for it.

um? i posted here and refreshed and my post is gone? something is fishy here and i don't like it. i just appealed for answers about why a comment i was trying to make consistently failed to post. It posted fine here, but then the post was gone when i refreshed.

Writing certain words like "ra-g-e" or "mana-g-er" will accidentally trigger the filter 😅

Thank you all for the reports and suggestions! A big update I have in the works should remedy quite a few of the concerns and issues. Also, hope everyone is having a great start to 2026!

When I first enter the site, any post made by someone using their account but posting anonymously says "You" as the poster (at least, I'm assuming that it's made by someone with an account. Some other posts are fine). Additionally, any likes on posts are highlighted like they came from me. When I refresh, it fixes itself.

one of my vents is one i want to archive but i forgot to set it that way, and because of its length it's not letting me edit it. i'd really like to save this one before it's too late is there any way that bug can be looked at? this vent only has 3 days left on it.

just got a reply notification saying someone replied to my comment but they didn't, they reacted to the OP at about the same time i was making my comment tho.

ughhh the issue where i type up a long reply to a comment and it refuses to post despite being WELL under the listed character limit is still there. i have no idea what the actual functional limit is, but it's well under 1000 because even a post with like 840 characters refuses to post if it's a reply to a comment.

i cant see my full post and comment history :( i only get to see ten posts and comments at a time and the page just ends, there's no infinite scroll. the main muttr feed works fine although i find it quite interesting that we can't see the footer due to infinite scroll

When you create your own invite only private community, it's not at all private. It is public and people still can join no matter the setting that says private.

if anyone even looks at this section anymore (the last 2 posts before this one are mine and they're the only posts made this month) I noticed that reactions (including my own) appear as "Anonymous" when viewed from the main page, but have usernames listed when viewed from a vent's dedicated page. Whether logged in or out. Got excited for a second that i could react anonymously but looks like it's just a glitch :(
